Kent Asbestos Solutions were requested by the CEO of Powdermills Hotel to undertake a full asbestos management survey to all areas of the hotel.

When pricing up large, complex buildings such as hotels, our competent project managers will attend site to ensure we have all the necessary information before providing a quotation for the survey. Essentially, we are ensuring that the timeframe and cost we provide our client to undertake the works is accurate. 

In this instance, information such as floor plans, building make up, how many bedrooms, back of house rooms, any tricky to access areas etc all play a part in determining how long the survey will take, so it's always wise to attend site first.

Following on from attending site, our cost and timeframe was agreed with the client and our surveyors were mobilised the following week.

With the hotel being live and occupied, our surveyors liaised with the reception staff and hotel manager to determine the best course of action for inspecting the bedrooms. Our staff received a list of rooms which were unoccupied in the morning, and those checking out later that day. Once these were inspected, the back of house areas, restaurant and final few areas were also surveyed.

Over the few days which followed the completion of the survey, our admin team ensured that all of the information within the report was detailed and accurate and also that the drawings we had were also annotated.

Our aim was to provide a detailed asbestos survey report, which clearly highlighted any asbestos containing materials, their location, extent and condition. Within a few days of completing the survey, we issued this detailed report, along with annotated floor plans depicting the location of the ACMs as well as our negative sample points.
